Other Ways to Give
Thank you for your generous offer of support in raising funds for LRG Research. We have compiled a list of ideas to get you started in supporting this important cause!
Five minute Fundraisers
- Pick a specific investment and raise enough money through friends and family to support that investment
- Host a “Casual Day” at your work, asking participants to pay a small fee for the ability to dress down one day a week.
- Have a garage sale at your house, donating proceeds to the LRG.
- Donate your car to the LRG. Contact liferaft@liferaftgroup.org
- Have a bake sale, car wash or other fundraiser at your child’s school or locally in the neighborhood.
- Place coin cans in your local community, asking patrons to donate their spare change.
- Search the internet using Goodsearch.com and each click will donate money to the LRG
- Shop through iGive.com and a percentage of purchases will go to the LRG
Dedicated Fundraisers
There are many ways to make a difference! By creating a fundraising event, you personally can inspire others to support the cause by having them join your event or create their own.
Community Fundraisers can be a one-time special event or an ongoing fundraising activity.This could be an event that you are organizing specifically to raise money for the LRG or an event that you or your company are already holding that you would like to add a fundraising component to e.g. donating a percentage of ticket sales to the LRG.
This could also be a fundraising activity that is not an event. An example would be the development of your own, individual product (e.g. a calendar or cookbook) with all proceeds from the product going to the LRG.
- Sports or other adventure seeking events
- Plan a benefit dinner or comedy shor at a community center or hotel
- Organizing a walk-a-thon to raise awareness of GIST and generate funds
- Plan a silent auction, getting items from local businesses
- Host another event in your community or home
- Host a gala with friends, family, and work colleagues
Other Ways to Give
In Honor/Memory of Loved Ones
You can personalize your donation by acknowledging family and friends in honor of various occasions such as anniversaries, birthdays, thank you, holiday gifts, weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, and baby births.
You can also make a donation in memory of a loved one.
Donate Stock
Give appreciated securities, mutual fund shares or bonds to the Life Raft Group and avoid the capital gains tax on their sale. Please consult your broker or contact us directly if you need additional information or have any questions.

Bequests
A bequest may be included in the body of a will or as an amendment (codicil). Gifts made through a bequest typically provide an estate tax deduction. Please consult your attorney and/or financial advisor for specific information. Contact liferaft@liferaftgroup.org if you have any questions.
